Shawn Chacon got a raw deal, the Clippers will win the NBA title next year, and no one will miss Shea Stadium.

Casey, I hope you make it a practice of deleting bogus comments that are just plugs for their own agendas like the one from "trust but verify" above this, not to mention that moron from Gatorade wanting to make a huge story of Doc Rivers' "historic" splash.

Quick quips on the final:

Spain was the deserving winner...when the Germans needed to attack in the last 30 minutes of the match they could barely get the ball over the midfield line...the Spanish goal, though deserved based upon the overall play, was a poor play on the part of the German keeper- slow to react and poor positional technique when he did arrive (chest to the ball with arms extended would have been better than getting legs in front of ball)...

sorry, more to follow when time allows...

Kevin McHale for making the Kevin Love trade.

In that deal, they also got a legit outside threat in Mike Miller. I just think O.J. Mayo is eventually going to be more of a distraction to teams than anything - like what Reggie Bush is becoming for the Saints. The T'wolves will have an awesome young frontcourt with Al Jefferson and Love. Kevin Love is a natural leader and will do wonders for that young Minnesota team who has nobody over 32. If they can dump Telfair on someone, they'll have no nut cases to deal with. We'll see the kind of GM McHale is in the next few years. He has a lot of room to sign a big time free agent. He needs to go out and get a SG who can score; all the other role players are in place.

Wally

Great run down on Fresno St. I caught the come back they had - great stuff.

As a side note - Georgia head coach, Dave Perno, played and managed in the NYCBL for a team with one of my favorite names: the Cortland Apples.

My POTW (I know it's not as sexy as Wally's but it works): Adam 'Bomber' Curynski, Webster Yankees, NYCBL. The 'Bomber' went 2-0 this past week. He threw 16 innings of shutout ball, striking out 9 and walking one. Going into today's game the right hander from So. Illinois had an ERA of 1.75.
